Moral Issue

I will vote yes on Prop 8 because I believe that marriage should only be between a man and a woman. For me, this is a moral issue. I believe that it is morally wrong to engage in a homosexual relationship. And I cannot deny my moral convictions by voting against this proposition.

Now, I know that in our society it is considered closed-minded and unenlightened to believe that there are moral rights and wrongs. Everything these days has become a shade of gray, leaving me to decide whether a certain decision is "right for me". The opposition for Prop 8 would say that even though I would not be personally affected by an amendment in the constitution defining marriage, I should not deny the right of marriage to anyone. Because maybe homosexuality is "right for them".

But I will stick with my moral convictions. I will teach my children that there are issues that have a moral right and wrong. And I will vote according to my conscience.
